4.0L X-charger vs 2013 V6?
#11
Convertibles are reinforced where it counts, that's why they're heavier than coupes.
If I remember well, the 05/09 Mustang vert was the strongest in its class so it's a proven shell.
Again, you would have to drive like a mad man on the streets to stress out your body shell so you'll be safe.

I'd get the new V6 Coupe. Reasons...
1) Six-Speed instead of a Five-Speed
2) Much MUCH better gas mileage
3) You can build a LOT more power off of a 3.7 instead of the 4.0
4) You will have a warranty (even if you mod it technically)
5) New Body Style than your current Vert
6) Interior is totally redone with the digital dash cluster for 1/4 mile, o-60, etc...
Just my opinion... Much better if you are looking for a DD that can race and is extremely reliable
P.S.- Should you upgrade your current vert, and you ever sell it, you won't get nearly as much money as you put in to it.

I think this sums it up:
Own a 05-09 - voted as such
Own a 10+ - voted as such
Were you looking for actual opinions, or who owns what?
Here's one more 'if I were you' just for SaG..
You own this car - and have a mod budget, right?
If you were to get into the 12/13 model, would you still have this mod budget?
If not, answer seems obvious - SC that biatch.
If so, and if you'd plan to mod the new car anyhow.. Why aren't you down at the dealership? Unless you and the 05-09 body style are joined at the Hip? And if so, just get that SC in and call it a day, why bother asking opinions if you like it moreso than the 10+body style?
Otherwise, starting with 95HP and 40TQ up on your current car, better interior, warranty - is pretty darn nice; then mod from there..?
This is a choice I'd be making internally, not 1 person on this earth would have input that would sway me really (not even my own that I gave you, LOL) outside of hard research. What do *you* like and want from this possible car swap (or not)?

Thanks for the input everyone!
JayyVee - Your summary really hit the nail on the head. So I totaled up everything I would do to my current car, put some 8+ hours detailing into what I have just to be sure where I"m really starting from, came up with a price I'd be willing to sell at and still have some mods budget and went down to my friendly local dealer.
They did better than I thought they would on trade (not a lot, but hey it's nice to have at least started in the same ballpark this time), and I get exactly what I want (which I didn't on the 07 - long story there). New car is on order!

im of the opinion that if you like the 2013... wait and buy it in 2016... you will save 30+% of the price....
nothing like seeing your "old" 2007" sitting paid for in the driveway and not making any payments at all...
jmo....

Glad to see you ordered the 2013! (The new brake lights are awesome)

Much much MUCH more room to push some power out of a 3.7 instead of the 4.0's.
