GT style grille w/ fog lights for 05-09 v6 mustang
I'd like to hear from anybody who has installed American Muscle's GT style grille on a S197 V6 Mustang. I have an 07 V6 w/ pony pkg. According to AM # 94448 GT style grille w/ fog lights won't work with the pony pkg. and #94429 GT style pony delete grille w/ fog lights will. I have emailed AM several times and gotten incomplete and conflicting info. Once I was told that 94448 would work with the pony pkg (website says no) and another time I was told it wouldn't. I have tried to find out exactly what I need to order before making up my mind to buy and I get no answer. I need to know if the grille comes with an adapter to make the existing fog light wiring work with the new gt light or if I still have to order the wiring kit.

I'm really sorry you were getting conflicting information from my Email Team. I'll talk to them today and make sure they know the correct info and everyone is in sync, as well as the AM website.
To answer your question, neither of these will work with a pony pkg Mustang with out modification. You'll have to relocate your horn and cut into the radiator support I believe. So it is possible, but will take some work.
I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you and for the misleading information. I'm going to have the site correct ASAP! Let me know if there's anything else I can help with.

I installed one of these this spring. You do have to relocate the horn. Most of the information I read on these said that you have to cut the old horn mount off of the radiator support. I actually used a pair of vice grips and gently bent the mount downwards even with the rest of the radiator support. To me this was quicker and I'm sure I can straighten it out if I want to reverse it later. ( I'm sure I won't but just in case). Once everything is back together you don't see this modification. I didn't have the Pony package so I had to get the wiring harness and OEM light switch. I would highly recommend this grill.

Ok now I've gotten another different response. I knew about the horn being in the way but had not heard about the radiator. I had heard that someone else had just bent the horn out of the way and it worked fine. Again, the website lists that one won't work with the pony pkg and one makes no mention of it. I still don't know how the wiring is connected. Does it come with an adapter so my existing wires will accept the new and different fog light bulbs or do I need to order the whole wiring kit. I have bought quite a few items from AM and have been very satisfied will all of them. Since this doesn't seem to have installation instructions that I can read before purchasing to make sure I order exactly what I need and what will or won't work, I may have to seek out another vendor for this type of item.

It's not the radiator. There is a part of the upper radiator support that sticks out that the horns mount to. I didn't try to leave the horns where they were when I bent the bracket but I supposes that would work. The wiring harness on the Pony Pacakage cars has a different size connetor for the fog lights. The pony Package uses H11 bulbs and the GT uses H10 Bulbs. I believe there is a short pig tail adapter that will allow the existing wiring to work with the new lights. I found this using BING.

Thks teepee542. I don't know how many of these grille AM sells but it seems to me the amount of info pre purchase could be greater. I think with the number of grilles they offer, they must have a decent demand for them. Since AM is the "Aftermarket Mustang Authority", I would have expected them to have a detail packet for their sales people/techs. I realize that the std model and the model with the pony pkg are different, but I thought S197 05-09 were close enough to being the same that they could have
been able to offer up a little more info.

Go with a Street Scene grill.
They fit perfectly with no issues whatsoever...
The AM grills are such a hassle and the fitment is quite bad.
Bend this, relocate that. Thats not a mod I want to make.
FTW, Add a second set of horns as well...
Black-out the area behind the grill for that added touch.

One thing I wish I would have done is black out the area behind the grille. What did you use 157?

Relocating the horn brackets weren't that much of a hassle. I just welding a custom bracket myself and everything fit fine. Didn't have to bend anything or cut into the radiator cover. Fitment wasn't bad either, everything looks good on mine.

paint so the rattle can paint will stay stuck for years.
And Eastwood Radiator Paint on the AC condenser.
NOT the ol common rattle can stuff...
Changing things to make a 'mod' fit that should be
engineered to fit without modifications is just wrong.
