Believe me I came from a 1.8 Versa you won't need to do that in even the V6. The 5-10 V6's don't have a lot of HP but they pack a nice amount of Torque so your fine there. In truth I have driven a 2004 GT a little and there isn't a lot of difference in feel between the cars. The GT is obliviously stronger but it doesn't seem like much and the specs show this as well. CAI/Tune/Dual Exhaust and from the Dyno's I've seen your up to the 04 GT's power easy. 05+ GT's well not from just those

OP, you're slacking son...
You're supposed to always keep the rpm above red line.

Well in Econo 4 cyn cars this is very true haha. To quote Matt from TheSmokingTire "I love red-lining 4 cylinders".

Like others have said... take it easy for at least a few hundred miles. Like you I drive pretty hard, but I have my just wanna cruise days.

If a Lancer was your previous car, you will notice a huge difference. However, be careful, this is a Rear Wheel Drive vehicle. Being spirited, may end up putting you into a light pole.

This is why you eat up clutches!

Execute proper engagement of the clutch and it will last just as long
as mr/ms careful, never had it over 3K on the Tach, driver's stang.
If you are slamming it at 5200, the RPMs match the next gear selected.
Its called speed matching and the clutch does not see much wear.
Its that starting from a standstill or pointing uphill that wears clutches the most.
And slow engagement...
When I am banging it into second at 5500, the clutch gets sidestepped...
