Default Performance Upgrades

What the best performance upgrades to a 2007 mustang v6 auto for the money?

I already have Taylor street thunder wires, iridium plugs, Grannattelli ignition coil, single flowmaster 40 series, and a drop in K&N air filter.

Performance wise, I highly recommend a CAI and SCT tuner with Custom tunes from either American Muscle or Brenspeed. The custom tune really wakes up the 4.0 engines!

I can easily say a custom tune would be the next and best bang for your buck. Especially since you have an automatic transmission! Our custom Bama tunes will adjust the shift points, shift firmness, and shift delay of your transmission. You'll also see an increase of HP/TQ throughout the powerband and significantly better throttle response!

Check out some of the Bama Customer Tuners on our AM site. Let me know if you have any questions about our Bama tunes, too!

Forget what the advertising says...
Taylor street thunder wires: zero power gain
iridium plugs: zero power gain
Grannattelli ignition coil: zero power gain
single flowmaster 40 series: zero power gain
drop in K&N air filter: zero power gain
On your 4.0, a CAI & good custom tune yields 15-20 RWHP, real world, plus improved driveability, especially on automatics.

Before I installed my ProCharger, which I also purchased at AmericanMuscle, I had this setup. Huge difference in the car, especially with the 93 race tune. I ran it for over 25,000 miles with no issues.

Do they make different gears for those 4.0's rear end? not to hold a ton of power, but something to have some fun with? say, 3.73's?

Yes. I upgraded mine with 3.73's. Buy the Ford Racing gears. I've heard bad things about other brands.

Our Bama tuners come with custom hand written tunes from our Bama Performance Team. Once you purchase a Bama tuner from us, you're enrolled into our Free Tunes for Life program. This means you'll eligible to get free tune updates for any future bolt-on modifications that require a tune adjustment!

Shoot me a PM if you have any other questions!
