Default Pumping gas problem?

Hey i dont know if anyone else has been having this problem, but the past few weeks i've noticed that when i go to pump gas the pump will continually kick off as if my gas tank is full, has anyone else noticed this?....i've tried turning the pump every which way but i still cant get it to keep from kicking off, it takes me like 10 minutes to pump a half a tank of gas...i called the dealership where i bought my car and they told me that my gas tank had to be replaced, that ford told them there was a problem with it....

yep... a known problem... I've never gotten around to having my tank replaced... i find that some gas stations are worse than others... if I have trouble I actually turn the nozzle a whole 180 degrees (upside down)... that usually works...

I have the same problem. I didn't know Ford was willing to replace the tanks like that. Looks like I'll be making a trip to the dealership this weekend.

Hey everyone, so i was supposed to get my mustang back this past weekend, but as it turns out, they replaced the tank and that wasnt the problem...so the dealership order the entire downspout to the tank itself and they replaced that on monday...and as luck would have it...that did fix my problem either...they told me that it helped alittle bit and that it wasnt as bad pumping...but the pump did keep shutting off...i was told to drive it for a month and if i get annoyed with the problem the i am to return my car and they are supposed to have a couple ford techs come over and check it out....not the news that i wanted to hear, but what can ya do?...

I had my tank replaced today, took about 4 hours. I have not filled up yet, but I might in a few days.
