Default 2014 V6 auto strange shift 3rd-4th

Hello. I've had my 14 for a couple of months and I noticed that sometimes when it shifts from 3 to 4 there is a slight braking feeling as if I was driving a manual and went to a lower gear for a split second and then to 4th. Don't know how else to explain it. The car has 67k on it and it does it pretty much all the time now. Doesn't matter if you're grannying it or having some fun. I feel it isn't right so it's annoying me haha. Been looking thru the forums but haven't seen this symptom so I hope someone can point me in the right direction who knows what I'm talking about. Maybe a fluid change or flush. or reset the ECU?
Thanks much

Start with a complete fluid change, you can get about 60-70% out by dropping the pan and replacing the filter while you are at it. Dealer charges between $170-200 for a fluid exchange. No idea about dropping the pan and replacing the filter. If you go to any dealer or shop and they tell you that one or the other is not necessary, go somewhere else.

Ignore the manuals ridiculous claim of the transmission being a "sealed for life" unit or containing "Lifetime fluid" or anything that says it never needs servicing. It's B.S. and can literally be translated to when the fluid fails, the transmission will fail.

At seven years old and 67K miles you are overdue if it's never been done.

Thanks for the info, and I agree about "sealed" is bs. I will get that taken care of and make sure that the filter is done as well. Also wanted to add that I did the pedal reset trick (turn key on press to the floor and back, turn key off then start and drive and that helped greatly. I think the symptom gone but I'll still have it serviced.
Take care

I hope you don't need the Transmission Control Assembly. $620.06 with a $200.00 core charge .

Yeah I hope not. It has a warranty on it so hopefully that will be covered. I found that if I'm using the select shift and go from 3rd to 4th and get on the throttle right when she hits it doesn't do it. Very strange sensation. You can feel the braking sensation in the rear end (of course since it's rear wheel drive) when it does it. Some days it doesn't do it at all though. Thanks for the info in any case.

You can get one (transmission valvebody/solenoid control) from Tasca Ford or Fordparts Giant for about $200 less (~$420) and no core charge.. Regardless, it doesn't sound like it would be that. A solenoid freaking out would usually cause the Check Engine light to turn on or blink. A normal code scanner would not be able to scan for transmission codes or see if any are pending. You need one that can read transmission codes to see if there is one pending. It's a tool worth having and you would be able to rule out hard transmission failures for the moment.
