Mine go in on Thursday morning. If you change out the gears, you may as well change out the diff and if you got gears, you will need a bearing kit. I'm doing all three thursday, so I can post again and let you know how it goes.

I was thinking about getting the 4.10 gears also, because even with the intake and exhaust, plus tune, I still would like the car to be quicker off the line. But wont this KILL the gas mileage? When cruising on the highway at 75mph, I am at less than 2500RPM. With 4.10 gears, wont that require 3000+RPM? That is at least a few MPG difference, isn't it? I am curious about this. Also, how much does it lower the top speed (not like I go over 125MPH that often).

MSP at another forum helped me with the calculations. It's roughly 250 more RPM between 70-80MPH. Also, another member told me he gets only 2MPG less than me with his 4.10s. So I do not think it is a major loss, considering you get a MPG gain with CAI and exhaust, it should help cancel things out a bit.

I got my 4.10s from mustangtuning.com and my TLOK from ebay. My parts go in on thursday so I will have more to tell then.

cool, thats good to know. Be sure to post once the work is done. The rear-end is the next thing I am doing, but would like to see what a few others say about it before I jump in.

Gears were 144, bearings like 75 and TLOK shipped was 180 if I remember correctly. Install cost will vary, I have been quoted 255 to 550. Most people on the forums say to expect 300. I got a race shop to do it for 255, but will probably be closer to 300 with the fluid.

No problem. Ford Racing TLOK for the 7.5 rear end. Your choices are Ford Racing and Detroit TruTrac or Detroit Locker. Before you buy them I would check around local places to install them.
