yea if your like throwing the torque down hard but i dont think its that much of a deal if you just ease the gas to about 2k while holding the breaks

Im assuming you are disengaging Traction Control?

Also, it's spelled brakes not breaks, crazy homonyms.

Bah! haha, my IQ always drops when I type on the internet, don't know why.

Spartan, wearing out your breaks is the least of your concerns if something goes wrong. Power braking every once in a while may not be drastically bad, but doing it even once every two months could be bad. it CAN also break drive train parts; leaf
springs, axels, etc and that would be expensive as **** to fix. Basically, power braking is a good way to break the rear end out of your car.

Taken to heart, will_c. I hardly ever try, but did it twice today because the thought is fresh in my mind.

Do you know of a better way to burn rubber without tearing out the rear?

I assume with the proper tune, that wouldn't be a problem...... next paycheck!!

If want to make great burnouts, you could invest in a line-loc instead of a tune.......if u want. Its a device that bolts into the brake system using a solenoid or pressure valve that works like this:
1- step on the brake.
2- engage the line-loc.
3-release the brake pedal.
4-only the rear brakes disengage, the fronts stay on.
They also come with a dash mounted control so you can slowly let up on the fronts

This is what those drag racers on tv have that allows them to make those sky-scraping smoke pillars!!!![sm=insomnia.gif]
But other than this i dont know why u would want to fool with one

uummmm.... I power brake a lot... and i'm running over 380ft/lbs of torque through my 7.5... I do have a track lock which sends power down both axle shafts but still... I really don't think your going to hurt anything (other than brake pads) power braking with a stock V6... of course use common sense... don't try and hold the car back for an extended time... we're talking a few seconds at a time... As soon as the car is staged I start power braking... so I'm holding it a very short time... seconds not minutes... (to long and you can overheat the tranny fluid... )

I think the 7.5 in are cars is lot stronger than most people think...
