I still have at least a 3-month wait for my silver '06 V6 w/Pony Package. I talked myself out of the GT for financial reasons. I have kids, my wife drives a "family car", all I need is something with 4 wheels and a steering wheel. GT would have been awesome, but just not practical for our situation. I'm thrilled to be getting a Mustang at all!

What are some of the basic, inexpensive modifications I could make? I'm looking for more power, and better engine sound.

Welcome and the best engine sound would be an exhaust system, intake, and get some gears, those are the least inexpensive mods that help.

You should post this in the 2005/2006 4.0V6 specific forum. You'll get a much quicker answer.

i think that the the best "bang for your buck" mod is an intake and tune

Sorry, I'm a total newb. What does everyone mean by "intake"? You mean like a hood scoop? As for better exhaust, could someone steer me to a product? Am I looking for dual exhaust? As for the gears that 01SilverGT suggested, I'm not sure if I'll ever figure out how to do that. Intake and exhaust sound great (and maybe GT foglights, grille and f.bumper).

Here's the car I'm selling, to make room for my new pony. I'll miss it, but it's racking up the miles big time.

Hi Ken, congrats on your new stang you will love it. The pony pack really makes the car. Speaking of which why would you get gt foglights and grill when the pony pack grill is perfect for these cars? as far as mods I think most will tell you to get a tuner (I got mine from bamachips; good service, talented tuner there named Doug). In case you dont know, this is a device to "reflash" the cars computer. Bottom line it runs better.
