Default Getting my car ready for the Stage II ProCharger - Need advice!

I need some help everyone. I have a few questions I've been unable to get answers for by searching. I'll call around tomorrow and double-check... but I wanted to run these questions by you all first.

1) When I placed the order, they recommended I upgrade the ignition system when running boost. They mentioned some brand, but I don't really remember. It was something along these lines: http://www.ignitionsolutions.com/productsBooster.asp From what I can glean from other non-Mustang forums, the difference was negligible. But this was with N/A engines. Is it a more appropriate upgrade with forced induction?

2) Thermostat: Heat is the ultimate cause of pre-detonation. Many factors contribute to that heat (too much boost, low octane gas, etc...) Would running a t-stat with a lower opening threshold help keep engine temps in a safe range? Normally, I don't believe in messing with t-stats, since they're designed to keep an engine at its optimal temperature... but when running boost, the engine will be dealing with extra heat.

3a) Fuel pump: I've heard a few stories about the stock fuel pump not being able to supply enough pressure for the larger injectors included with the kit. IIRC, it was a GT that had the problem, and they had to remove the rear seat to change out the fuel pump. Has anyone heard of this? ...will the stock pump be strong enough to supply 42lb injectors?

3b) Boost-a-Pump: This is a Kenne Bell thing, right? It makes sense, though. I guess it adds extra voltage to the fuel pump to increase output. Could this help in a S/C application? I know Mike @ PowerHouse uses one...

I am still trying to decide between a T-Lok or a TrueTrac.....

Kenne Bell makes a Boost-a-spark, maybe check that out. I don't believe that Powerhouse, belial or MSP did anything with their ignition system and they are ok.

I wouldn't think you'd need it.

From what I understand, the fuel pump in the V6 is the same as the one in the GTs. The V6 injectors are smaller. I believe the stock fuel pump is good up to 400hp, Mike was going above that so he got the BAP. That's why the GTs need a bigger pump, they go over 400HP pretty easy with a power adder. If you do upgrade the fuel pump, get the BAP.

I am still trying to decide between a T-Lok or a TrueTrac.....
It really depends on how hard you plan on launching at the track. I got the TT for peace of mind. One thing, the T-Lok has to be rebuilt every so often, the TT doesn't. Kind of a pay me now or pay me later type deal. In short, I wouldn't mess with the ignition, fuel or t-stat. Instead, put that money into the rearend and get the TT and maybe a girdle.

flapjack,
if you wanna upgrade the ignition go here: http://www.msdignition.com/ I emailed them a while back about what part is for the 06 stang and this is it: DIS 4 Plus part number 62152.
You will also need two of the 89121 adapters.
I cant help you with the other stuff but, I thought the kit came with a voltage booster for the fuel pump that is capable of handling the load? What does ATI say?
good luck and congrats on your purchase! !

Flap I would just like to add to the above I think a new fuel pump comes with your PC Stage II because when if you get the tuner kit it says they omit the fuel pump, also they used to ship with 39LB injectors and you said you getting 42LB so they must of went up to 42LB injectors

tomahawk: Thanks for the MSD link. Quite pricey! I found it at Summit for $398.... I think I'll hold off on that puppy.

TJ: Thanks for pointing that out. You have to read between the lines because they don't show a pump in the Stage II parts breakdown....

Also, I think everyone's convinced me to get the TT, but I can't find it for $350, like some have gotten it for. The best I can find it $382, plus $5 "handling", plus a "will call" quote for shipping. This is at Drivetrainspecialists.com :P

Any better idea of where to get it??
