reducing wheel width?

Default reducing wheel width?

What shops would be able to reduce a wheels with? i.e. I have a 9 inch widerim that needs to be a 7.5" rim, i need a 11/2" cut outof it and I need it welded back together.

any thoughts?

Why would you want to do that? It would probably be cheaper and safer to buy a new wheel, but i'd imagine any good welder could do it. Personally, I don't think i'd do that.

The wheels I want only come in 17x9", and i have to have 7.5" wide rims on the front to clear my A-arms.

Thats pretty lame. You're going to screw up your wheels, unbalance them, risk them cracking mid use- Go with a different setup. Cutting and welding a wheel is a dumb idea.

The easiest thing to do is take a sledge hammer to the a arms until you get the needed clearance, don't worry if they break throw a little elmers on them.
