S197 Wheel Width, Backspacing & Offset
OK - I found a neat little chart for converting backspace to offset:

You can get a ballpark converting offset to backspace just by working backwards.
Now my questions. Assuming you want to keep the tire and wheel tucked under the fender:
[ol][*]What is the widest wheel you can put on the front of an S197 Mustang? 9.5"? 10"? 10.5"?[*]What is the widest wheel you can put on theback of an S197 Mustang? 10.5"? 11"? 12"?[*]What is the required offset or backspacing for those widest wheels?[/ol]
TIA

Saleen uses 9"s and 10"s on some S197's and don't stick past fenders. With the proper off-set, you could probably add 1/2" to either and would still fit underneath (but be pretty close). I believe the off-sets are around +24 (front) and +39 (rear), but CONFIRM THIS!
I recommend going to Saleen / Roush section and will see many S197's with 9"s and 10"s. You will be able to see the spacing around wells (keep in mind that they are nearly ALL 20" wheels on those cars)and see if you like it. I think 18"s or maybe 19"s will be a betterfit than 20"s.
