Default Wheel spacers

I joined this forum to get some info for a friend Little background He's retired and in past year and a half he's bought two Mustangs an 86 and a 92 Any way he isn't computer literate so he ask me to look things up all the time He saw a video where they put wheel spacers on a mustang and he's decided he needs them also but most spacers are 5 lug and his cars are both 4 lug wheels summit racing lists an eibach 4 lug spacer with 4x108 spacing but it does say if it fits his 86 any info you guys could give would be great I simply don't know what to tell him

Your friend may be computer illiterate, but you seem to be puctuation illiterate

Unfortunately, we don't have enough information here to be helpful to you One cannot just install spacers because someone else has them and he likes them. There are some things to consider, such as the following....

How wide are the wheels he has now?
What is the back-space/off-set of said wheels?
What size are the tires? (all three numbers please)
How thick a spacer does he want?
Is there enough stud-bolt length to safely support this spacer?
How much clearance does he have to fender and are they rolled?

I can tell you that going more than 1/4" is not going to be a good idea without replacing studs with longer ones for adequate support of wheels. Put up some pics and information needed above and will be happy to figure out what will/will not work on your friends ride.

Yes I am punctuation-ally challenged Here's what I know. his wheels are stock. His tires are Hoosier 225 60 15 and he has not rolled the fenders the spacers are the eibach 30 mm that have the studs mounted on them. You bolt them to your stock hubs with the lug nuts provided with spacers and use your factory lugs to attach the wheels to the spacers I'm just looking someone other than a sales person Who has any experience with them Here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNZhLb_wWhk

I know what he is talking about. He is looking for a 4x4.25 to 5x4.5 adapter.

Here is a link to some. Only thing is they are 2" thick since you convert from 4 lug to 5 lug.

If you are looking to bring the stock wheels outward 1", I don't see a rubbing issue on size mentioned. May get a bit of scrubbing up front and unlikely any need to roll the fenders at all. I think 1" is a lot of spacer and not such a fan for security reasons. This puts a bit of extra strain on the stock lug-bolts and don't like the idea of possible lugs coming loose behind the wheels. Many people do this, but just not a fan myself.

With that said, is he just after a wider stance look? He can run up to a 9" wheel and 265's if he does his homework.
