Default wheel help

Doing a 5 lug swap on my 88 GT from LMR. Need input/ help. I want to run 245/45R17 or 255/40R17 front and 275/40R17 rear. Will they fit or rub. Second want to run a black rim with polished lip 17x9 front 17x10.5 rear what offset to I need? Will they fit? Third where can I find rims that will work? LMR said that there isnt any something to do with the hub being to big? But I see fox bodys with them on them on the forums. Please help this is the only thing holding her back from seeing the road n track. Oh yeah have Steeda lowering springs and boxed upper and lower control arm so I can get rid of the quad shock set-up

You wont fit a 10.5" wheel on your Fox Body with out tub work. I would also not recommend a boxed LCA or UCA unless they EACH have a spherical bearing on one end.

The widest you will fit without work is a 9" wheel and can be found at OEWheels and AM.

Are you sure that this person has a 10.5" wheel on a Fox Body? If so, it would be cool to know what he has doe to run them. I am sure the quads must have been removed and some pretty serious fender rolling with a touch of Sister Sledge and MC Hammer under the wells to provide clearance. Also would be good to know what tire he is running on these wheels as well.

Anyway, head over to AM '79~'93 wheels section and take a look at what they recommend in that size. They are VERY good at wheel fitment and would not be comfortable going outside the perameters without some research.

He is running Nitto NT-05 275/40R17 No fender roll and yes quads are removed the are not reccomended when running tubular upper and lowers. The only reason they were used stock was to help stop axle movement with stock flimsy control arm a weight saver instead of them coming solid in the first place. I will check them out I need wheels for 94 and up did the 5 lug swap.

The 275's explains why he can run such a wheel. They must look a little stretched on those wheels, but cool that he has got them to work.

Hopefully Timspony will chime in here as he has some good info on 5 lug conversions. Do a search in this section for posts (not threads) by Timspony and will need to go back a few months. They will start in order from the most recient and going backward. He doesn't post too often, so would expect info to be only a page or two back.
