Tire too narrow?
ok, first of all, that is an awesome car lol, very nice.... and I ask cause right now I have 245's on front, and they are just about a perfect fit it seems. But I want a narrower tire up front and i know that anything below a 235 is out of the question with a 9 inch, but I figured the 235 may have a possibility. I dont really try to take corners fast or anything, for the most part, but there is the occasion when I do.
Thanks
I have no problem with a 245 on a 9" wheel, but we are certainly in the minority. I would use the manufacturers recommendation for the fitment of ANY tire on a particular width wheel. Figure that 10mm is equal to about 3/8", so this theoretically would put you approx. 5/16" narrower on each side, but the sidewalls will be just about the same fitment, so a subjective decision to be sure.
I don't know how to be of more help, as different manufacturers are going to have differing fitment to a given wheel.
