Wheel help?
I have staggered 19" AXIS Shine wheels on my 2006 GT since 2007. They look so good compared to the stock wheels. Night and Day. However, they look so good that I never took them off for any Winter. Not smart. I know. They aren't ruined, they are just weathered. I know that I can get them reconditioned for $125+ per tire. Ain't gonna happen. Broke. My OEM wheels are in brand new condition with Pirelli's that have 100% tread. I am wondering what my options are. In a perfect world, I'd love to sell the OEM wheels in exchange for reconditioning the Shines. Anyone have any contacts or resources? I'd really appreciate it.

My recommendation would be to use the OEM wheels/tires for Winter and the 19"s for Summer-only use. This leaves you with finding a way to repair them, but what will you do next Winter when you are presented with this issue again? Without alternate wheels, you will have another concern of finish on your nice wheels
Do some searching around and see if you can find a product to clean up the finish of your wheels.

It has a machined face with anthracite accents. I am not hesitant to admit that I'm not 100% sure what that means. My best guess would be that someone used a machine to make it look all pretty and I fudged it up. Am I right?
These pics are all I can get right now but I am a little ticket off. This is my first time ever buying after market wheels and they were not cheap. It looks like the clear coat has cancer. The anthracite on every wheel doesn't have a scratch. I wanna trade my OEM wheels with tires and my AXIS wheels with tires for the chrome 2010 GT500 wheels. I am really upset. I took care of these wheels and for the money,...this was not worth it. The pics are crappy but just look on the deep dish part for little spider looking scratches. Thanks Jazzer!
It does indeed look to be the clear-coat gone bad
All I can suggest is to do some Google research and see if there is a way to address clear-coat problems. I am guessing some sort of liquid that may disolve what is on there, so you can remove it and re-apply something in its place. I don't see where you live, but guessing that you may have snow in your area that the city uses salt to break it down?
I wish I could be of more help
