Default 2011 GT tire help

I have a 2011 GT with the optional 19" bright machined aluminum wheels. I was wondering what size (width) they are? I'm not sure if they are 8" or 8.5" wide.

I currently have 245/45/19 inch tires and was wondering if I could put 255/40/19 inch tires. My car is NOT Brembo equipped. My real concerns is that the 255/40/19's will rub when I turn or that the 255's will be too wide for the rim.

Since I am still considered a "Noob", I can not post an attachment to show you a picture of the rims.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure the 19" rims are 8.5 wide. Going up one size wider shouldn't be a problem but your tires overall diameter will actually decrease with a 255/40.

The "Brembo Brake Package" had 8.5"x19" wheels. I know you don't have that brake kit, but I am sure the wheels are the same ones. You can run a 255 tire and will have zero issues of clearance going that width.
