Default Quick question about some slicks

Hi there everybody,

I was recently offered a set take off 225/45/17 Continental (rebranded Hoosiers from the continental cup series) with only one set of qualifying laps on them for next to nothing. I'm planning on running these on my 06 GT on the stock 17x8s for track use only obviously. Here's the question, how stupid is it going to look with the tires pretty much 2 inches smaller in diameter than the stock 235/55/17s, and am I going to have adverse handling characteristics? Looks don't matter too much since it will only be on the track, but It's still nice to know.

Thanks

a 2006 GT needs a tire which is over 27" in diameter and those 225/45-17's are 25.0" tall. Those are way too short and do not have the proper load capacity. Handling will also be effected negatively as they will alter the scrub radius .... you should pass on those
