Default rear aluminum louvers and winter

To the owners that own these types of louvers, how do they fair in cold weather and do you all go through automatic car washes?

I am thinking of getting Asta Hammond rear window louvers, the aluminum kind, but want to make sure they can withstand the winter and car washes...

I am not worried about snow because it only snows A LOT a few times, then it dies down, but it does get down to -35 at times so it's very cold up herezzz..

i would be careful brushing it off or just leave her in the garage when it snows hard. but dont drive with snow in it because itll add lots of weight

dang it.. I was worried about that. I might as well take them off for the winter. Sucks because those damn brackets are like $50 and the 3m tape isn't fun to take off, even with a heat gun and Goo-off it takes about an hour.

stealth_gt,
Would not be overly worried about driving with the rear louvers on during the winter. Just brush the snow off. Ran my 06 through 2 winters & never had any issues. Mine were the MRT/Visus louvers though.

I never had mine through the car washes though, always hand washed.

I have the AH aluminum but they've never seen snow or ice since I installed them in '08.

Nope... there are four thumb screws that hold the louvers on. If you want to clean the window you have to remove the louvers.

I've had mine for about two years but like Nuke I've never driven the car in the snow or rain. So for me it's not a big issue.
