New headlights and fog lights
Well I've had nothing but problems out of my HID setup. So my next purchase is going to be some simple halogen bulbs.
I've been looking into the PIAA xtreme white headlights and fog lights but was looking for some opinions on the brightest setup I can possibly get..

What are you looking for? It sounds like you want to go "pretty" instead of functional by matching your headlights and foglights at the same temperature.
Headlights:
This may not apply to you but my aging eyes have issue with anything around 5000K and higher in dark, wet conditions. I've had to revert to the Sylvania Silverstars (4000K) or Silver Star Ultras (4100K) as these are whiter than stock halogens (roughly 3500K-3800K) but still provide a brighter, whiter light.
Fogs:
I've run in plenty of "can't-see-the-line-on-the-edge-of-the-road" weather and I don't give a ratz azz WHAT Myth Busters says, a warmer bulb in the 2500K-3000K range (yellow) provides much more contrast than higher temp lamps. These Hella Optilux Extreme Yellow lamps have saved my azz countless times. Also be aware that our fog lights are designed to provide a wide, short throw; totally opposite of what a driving light (long and narrow) does.
And if you're one of those guyz that run both headlights and fog lights all the time, be prepared to meet people with baseball bats just itchin' to bust out some lights... like me.

Well I was on consumer reports and PIAA was in the top, just the price was an issue from their review. The xtreme white plus are 4000K temp. I can get them on amazon for head lights and fog lights for around 120 compared to 170 off AutoAnything.
I've read nothing but great things about PIAA but I was wondering what other brands to compare to.

PIAA makes decent products. I also like HELLA.
If you DO drive in any type of dark fog, rain or snow I'd seriously reconsider the temperature of your fogs. 4000K will be useless under those conditions (but darned "purty" otherwise).

We have a great HID kit for mustangs from just $89.99. I have it installed on my 2007 GT and it made a huge difference at night. I used to have the crappy aftermarket eBay bulbs before I worked at DD, now I have some of the best HID's on the market:

4300K is the OEM color of HID, straight white. But I recommend 6000k for a little tint of color, they also match our white LEDs at 6000k.
Let me know if you need help with HIDs, I'm a mustang owner and I've helped out several members get great lighting!
