Window Felt Poll

Window Felt Poll
Ok, just trying to gauge how bad the problem really is. Also would like to know what type of felt is installed, the soft part of velcro, fabric felt, etc. This is to help people decide whether or not they need it, and if yes, what type.

RE: Window Felt Poll
I used soft side of velcro, did it myself. If doing this again I would actually install after the tint is done, reason is that all of the water (or whatever the solution is) that they use to install the tint soaked into the velcro and made it kind of scrunch up in places and lose some adhesion. I re-did mine and it is working great. Pretty quick to do once you figure it out.

RE: Window Felt Poll
Same here, I asked about adding a felt liner but the tinter I went to has done dozens of jobs on the new mustangs with no complaints. And since I got the 3m metallic tint, it has a lifetime warranty.

RE: Window Felt Poll
I do not have the felt. So far no problems at all.

Guess I'm the rare case of the people that have posted. Got mine done asked about felt installer said wouldnt be a problem. 4 weeks later and my drivers side window that rolls down atleast once a day is full of deep scratchs. I will be getting felt and having it retinted soon.

works great. doesn't lose adhesion in the heat (Phoenix, AZ) and won't trap dirt like velcro. it's a little more expensive than the do-it-yourself felt options but much better IMO.
I wonder if this is more of a problem in dusty desert climates???
