I need some help with this topic. I used the Search, but I could not find the answer.
I am getting ready to have a set of FRP 3:73 gears installed on my 06 GT. What
speedo gear do I need to calibrate my speedo?

i'm pretty sure, you can use your sct xcal 2 to account
for different, differential gear ratios

As Hammeron and Bluestar stated before our cars dont need a speedo gear anymore, just a computer calibration that can be done easily with any of the programmers available, if you dont have one you can just borrow itor take you car to any Ford dealer.

I don't think you can borrow it. I had to reload my custom tune and change the axle ratio in the parameters.

ford dealer cant recalibrate either, without a kit they sell, but your tuner can do it

In that case I should apologize for both my mistakes, I never tried changing the gears but I've used my predator to change some other parameters after I installed the Ford/Whipple tune, I guess I'll need to do some more research about it.
As per the Ford dealer they reprogrammed the TPS sensors after I changed wheelsand didnt even charge me for that, so I thought gears should be the same. Anyway a tuner will work for sure.

Easy answer you can't. From '99 up a change of gear has meant reflashing the speedometer with a flash tool.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I believe these cars don't have a mechanical speedometer gear. It's all monitored electronically, correct?

Thanks for all of the replies guys. One question on using my SCT.
Will I have to reset the computer back to the factory settings and then
set the custom tune to calibrate the speedo?
