Extended Warranties

RE: Extended Warranties
I never get the extended warranties, but that's because I don't usually tend to stay in one car much longer than the manufacturer's warranty lasts. If you usually get a new car every few years, then it won't be necessary. If you want the car to last you 10 years, then it might not be so bad.
The maintenence plans aren't a bad idea because you can have the cost of future servicing rolled into your loan, but then you're paying dealership prices on maintenence and you're also paying interest in it. If you were planning to always take your car to the dealership for routine mainatenece then it might be a good idea (even if you pay for it separately from the loan) but if you go to Jiffy Lube all the time, it's usually cheaper than the dealer.

My wife bought the extended warranty on the tires and it has paid off because I got a nail in one of my tires the other day. The tire is or order and will arrive on Thursday. Saved 300 dollars. By the way they don't patch the tires it's a potential hazard saids Ford. So yes I believe that its worth it.
