Default launch rpm

Can any of you that have had your 05's at the track tell me what you launched them at? I had one really good launch at about 3k but I couldn't get it right after that. When I got it right it felt like I could have launched a lot harder. I was suprised at how hard the car squated and hooked.

Hey guy, I can't speak from experience because I own a V6, but I noticed some info in the R&T road test from the 12/04 issue that you find useful. In their test notes they state "Only 2000 rpm is needed for drop-clutch standing starts to generate modest wheel spin and the best acceleration runs." They also mention that the valve timing shifts "around 3000 rpm", and that may be why you've had some difficulty with launching at that rpm. Just thought I'd pass that along - maybe some others will be able to provide more direct information.

good luck -
