hiyaaaa
anyone tried any mods on the stock intake to get some air in?
like cutting the air box n just using a stock size k&n filter setup?
be a good sleeper mod so ppl dont see nutn wohooo lol

There was a thread a couple of days on here that someone mentioned they had drilled holes in the bottom of thier stock air box and installed a K&N, and they might have also removed the vapor trap.

the problem with cutting the box is that you will bring in the hot engine air. that will cut performance, the cooler the air the denser it is allowing for more fuel and more power. if you dont sit alot and live in cold climate you might be ok, but i live in so cal and it gets pretty hot. i am waiting for k&n to come up with a true cold air kit, they have in the past so for now i will just use the stock k&n drop in

I'm the one that added holes. I drilled 4 - 3/4" holes in the airbox. Three are on the engine side along with a stock hole. The other is towards the driver over the fender well. While there may be some engine heat. the holes are pretty far forward. It seems to work OK. I don't know if it helps but it was something to do until I want to spend some more $$.
