Here's some of CR's somewhat careful wording that never quite tells you to not include TPMS with your winter tire/wheel package but doesn't tell you that you must install it either.

After pointing out that the TPMS "can alert you to a drop in pressure before it becomes critical" . . . it goes on to say
The alternative is to do without the TPMS for the winter; however the tire-pressure warning light will stay illuminated. The best insurance is to be diligent about checking your tires' pressure at least once a month in the low-tech, old-fashioned way: with a good tire gauge.

I fyou're talking about your temporary winter rims, of course they don't. TPMS became mandatory for the car manufacturers beginning '07. But it's up to the consumer to see to any aftermarket wheels.

My car is an 09. The rims are off an 06. I appreciate you getting that info from me from C&D....... I am going to opt to run the light. I always check my tire pressure at least twice a month (every time I wash my car) or in the winter I use to do it more diligently so i am not worried about that. As long as it wont cause a problem ect I'm ok with it!

yep, no problems will occur. you will just have that annoying little dash display. so hit reset and drive off.

if it really bothers you though, the TPMS sensor I linked to on page 1 are going to be your cheapest bet.
