Question Question regarding stainless steel brake lines

I recently scored a good deal on a set of the GT500 calipers, rotors and pads. I want to upgrade my brake lines to stainless steel ones since I'll have to bleed all the fluid anyway.

Tirerack.com has goodridge stainless lines for $165, it says Mustang 05-09. Can I just buy these and use these with the GT500 front calipers?

When I got my GT500 takeoffs I went with Moss motors GT500 DBA rotor, pads, and brake line kit. I am not sure if the brake lines are compatable, but you could check on their part #s and see. I think the brake lines are the same though.

Well the goodridge part numbers seem to be the same, but the fittings on the pictures look different.

However Steeda sells stainless steel lines that work on both vehicles?

Keep the answers coming

The Steeda lines are pricey, but they come with factory-fit brackets that make the swap very convenient. They also come with banjo bolts... not sure if the others do.

Speaking of banjo bolts, do NOT overtorque those things. 30 ft-lbs only, I believe. They crack really easily, and that's really the last thing you want cracking on your car.

Hy, yes they fit perfectly. There a direct replacement. I got them on my car and, yes, the tire rack has the best price. That's where I go mine. Good luck.

P.S. The braking is amazing the first few times you'll try it. It's like night and day.

The question that comes to mind is do you have rims that will clear the GT500 calipers?

Yes, no problems there, I've already got the SVT GT500 take off rims.

I'm building some kind of hybrid, GT, GT/CS, Shelby GT, GT500

This all great to know. I have many friends that have told me that I should be doing this with my car because of the vast improvement over the stock brake lines.

So true Cam and when you had the GT just changing the pads, lines to SS, and the brakie fluid to DOT 4 would have made a huge difference in brake fade and feel...esp with FI. Many will argue that doing those 3 things are better then bigger rotors only.(cheaper too)

Now if you get a big brake kit (6 or 8 piston calipers) then that's a different story but your paying about 2-3K brand new easy....just for the fronts
