Default Pop on Hard Turn

Today I made the mistake of letting my Fiance drive my car.
He thinks he must drive the **** out of everything, so he takes my car pretty hard around a corner. My car made a really loud pop in the front end. Do you guys have any idea what that could have been?
I have never heard it before, but I never drive my car like that either. My car feels the same as always, but if something needs replaced I would like to replace it.

Sorry for the bump, but I posted this at a bad time last night.
I just want to see if anyone knows what that noise is.

Happened to me the other day. Thought I hit a bump and caused my front bumper to hit the pavement but everything was fine.

Well he said maybe it was a tie rod. I have no idea what that is.

Happened to me when I went over a speed bump too fast. Was only a few mph but a little high. Haven't noticed anything wrong after that. My thought was that either the my chin bumped (no damage) or the strut just took a real hard jolt.

One of my friends also mentioned the struts. When do those need to be replaced on these cars?

I've heard about the top plate that sits on top of your strut making those loud pop sounds. I changed mine to the GT500 plates when I lowered my car.

+1

If you can't see anything physically broken then the upper strut mount is most likely the culprit. I rode in a friend's car that was lowered and had a failed strut mount, it sounded like the wheel fell off when he turned.

Yeah its never done it with me, but I do drive my car pretty easy.
Its not that he turned it really hard, just more than I do. Its hasn't made the sound again so I guess I shouldn't worry about it too much now.
