Couple of questions
So after I sold my 06 GT that had a few mods done, I happened to keep some of the stock and aftermarket parts that I had for that. So while down in the basement, I stumbled upon some parts I had forgotten about. So here's a quick question or two.
I have the factory 06 GT 5-spd ring gear and pinion which is a 3.55 set. Is my 11 v6 rear end an 8.8 also that I can put these gears into?
Also have a bassani x-pipe too, but Im not sure if that's anything even close either.
Thanks!

Hi ST,
first, unless they changed for '11, the six shooters at least used to have a 7.5" rear axel and the GTs had 8.8". Also, once a ring and pinion are installed, I always heard you could not put them in another rear end, it would be noisy and you'd never get it quiet.
So, even if your '11 is an 8.8", I doubt you'd be happy with the used set from another car.

Starting in 2011 all Mustangs got the 8.8" rear end. It was only through the 2010 model year that the S197 V6 had the 7.5". So yes, the 3.55 ring and pinion will fit your 2011. Setting it up with used gears is a little bit harder, but if your mechanic is good he can do it.
As far as the X pipe, it won't be a direct fit. The 3.7L V6 has a 2.25" exhaust and the old system was 2.5" so you would need an adapter. But the 2011 already has an X pipe as I recall so unless you are changing everything else back to a larger diameter it wouldn't be worth it.
