i am asking this mainly for personal info, but say on my 302 i have had a bunch of diff ppl say that the heads i have are trash and to pick up a set a 351 heads. and i have also heard vise versa. So which is really better, comparring the head i already have to readily avalible head from the junk yard you actually could fine and not like one of those heads you hardly come across. and are the gt40p better than any 351 head and what are the diffrences b/t the reagular 40 and the P head

x2 run what you got and upgrade as you go.. no need in having the car parked because you have inferior parts.

302s and 351w's have the same e7 heads, only difference is that the 302 has 7/16 head bolts and the 351w's have 1/2 head bolts. Same head though none the less.

gt40s are an improvement over the e7s, the gt40p's are suppose to be an improvement over the gt40s as well but however put the spark plug on a bit of an angle so you may have header fitment issues.

Car Craft did a J/Y build up on a 351 using "P" heads and got something like 380hp on mostly J/Y parts.I belive the article was called "JUNKYARD JEWEL" or something to that effect look into it.

I do remember the 351 donor vehicle was an E150 van and i belive roller.
