Default problems with shifting

So in my 07 v6, i'm having problems with shifting from drive to reverse, and the opposite.

It seems that sometimes when i'm trying to pull out of a parking spot or something, i will put it in reverse, but it goes forward! then, if i let it sit for a few seconds i hear a sort of "GRUNT" sound, then it goes in reverse.

at first i thought i may have been cranking it up and shifting it too quickly (apparently i wasn't according to other people ive ridden with) so i cranked up, waited a few seconds, then put it in reverse and it still does it about a third of the time.

Is this a common problem in the 07 autos? would ford cover fixing this?

a little about the car-
07 V6, automatic, no upgrades, about 19,500 miles.

thanks guys.

you should be able to take it to any ford shop because you only have 19,500 and it will be under your warranty

I hope this isn't a common problem on the autos. I have an '09 and I haven't had any trouble with the transmission, but yesterday in the driveway I went to back up a little bit after moving forward a little bit and it was like it was still in drive after I had changed to reverse. Going to neutral and then back to reverse got me going, but I thought the event was really a bad thing. I was kinda inchin around other cars in the drive way as I had moved it to a blocked spot to vaccum it, could have been a really bad thing if I hit the gas hard!!! Ever since, its been fine. I'll keep watchin this thread, let us know how it goes at the dealer.
