Default High School Kid want faster 96 GT

Alright, here is my delma, I bought a 96 GT about a year ago, its got a good amount of torque but a laghable amount of HP coming from a good V-8. It doesnt leak or anything with 100k miles under its belt. I need some good power adders to get me up with the rest of you guys with 99+ GTs. So far all I've got is o/r mac H-pipe and flowmasters. I graduate in May and will hopefully have my car paid off, asap after I get my car paid off its all mods from there on out.

either rebuild that motor with forged internals and throw a charger or turbo in there or find a nice crate motor, you dont really want to push a 100+k motor too much if you wanna keep that motor and just want some pep add a lil nawwwwzzzzz

What does a 96-98 GT need to keep up with the 99+ mustangs? Would 4.10 gears be enough?

Its going to cost you too much money to get your car up with 99 plus GTs. You need a pi head swap and I dont know if its worth the money on a 100k engine unless you re do the whole thing, you may be better off with a crate motor. An intake, maf, TB, intake, pullies,3;73s and NO2 would get you there also, but alot of these cars have this stuff also. When you have the money throw a stroker motor in there!

I would like to keep my prices relatively cheap, the car runs good, but I was considering getting some PI heads from the junk yard and rebuilding them.

I would say if you can find them do it, seeing as how you want to keep your car and it still runs strong. The PI heads would be the best place to start especially if are looking into power adders further down the road. No flow no go, know what I mean?

do the pi heads from the 99+ gts fit on the 98gt... you think if i could find a wrecked 99 gt i could just take the pi heads, or is there more to it than that. and how much power do the PI heads really add. i mean if this kid gets a maf and t/b and plenum, some 3.73s he could definately hang with a 99 gt, especailly if already has exhaust done(id get headers if i were him).
