Default Which gauges?

Alright, well the other day I realized I hadn't changed the time on the clock in my car, so I pushed the hour button and it jumped 2 hours, so I pushed it again and again to get it back around, then it got stuck in and the clock just kept sitting there cycling. So I tried my best to get it to pop back out but it wasn't gonna happen and I accidently pushed the hour button all the way in trying to get it out. So that's that for the clock, time to get a gauge pod I guess because I don't want to put another clock back in, I'll just use my head unit's clock.

So now the questions, I know they make the little gauge pods to go in place of the clock, but who makes them and gauges for them? I'm not sure what size gauges they'd be so I just wanted opinions of other people who have gauges there. Also, what gauges do you think I should get? They would obviously be gauges that wont be staring me in the face, so I don't want anything too important or rapidly changing. My car is basically stock now, but won't be for long as PI swapping will have to happen soon.

Edit: Looks like the pods are pretty easy to find and I would guess that you can get just about any. I doubt there's that much difference in them all and it looks like they all hold 2 1/16" gauges. So which brand of gauges do you guys suggest and which two should I start out with? [/i]

You don't really need any aftermarket guages even with just a PI swap. I'd just put the clock back in. I have an extra one if you want it.

I know I don't NEED any, and I wasn't meaning I needed one with a PI swap, just mentioning that it's stock so I don't need anything fancy like boost. I'd just rather not stick another useless clock in when I could put in something else. For example, I know that most of the gauges in cluster are pretty pathetic, basically just tell you if the you're good or bad but have no real accuracy. I definitely plan on doing much more with this car down the road or if nothing else I can always re-use gauges on a different car.

If it was me, I'd put the clock back in until I had something that I needed to monitor closely. But if you're stuck on putting something in there, maybe go with an oil temp, coolant temp,and/or A/F ratio guage.

Maybe someone makes something like warning LIGHTS that would light up in the event of low oil pressure for example.. stick something like that down there.

I know I monitor my gauges quite often while driving but, I could imagine something going wrong that causes a problem but I'm not starring at the gauges at that moment to spot the problem. A warning light could be real useful

Hmm... I was kind of thinking an A/F because that is always useful once you start getting into tuning, that'd be a lot more expensive for the wideband though. After that I was thinking maybe oil pressure or water temp. We'll see, I might just end up doing those two, oil pressure and water temp so that I have accurate readings of those, then I can do an A/F sometime down the road when I actually need it.
