vent stuck on defrost

i know that it is the vaccum line that comes from the firewall, however it melted the end. First off where does it connect to in the engine bay, second how hard is it to get to the other side of the line since i will probally have to replace mine since the end is melted.

Did you ever get your issue corrected? Where exactly under the hood did you find the line going through the firewall and what does it look like? I'm having the same issue. I looked at all the colored lines in the dash and everything is connected.
