My opinion is not to do it. You will be better off and save money to just buy a new engine. I lost $2500 and my engine screwing with this ****. Now i have to get a new engine, which i just found a 2001 for $500 without the intake and valvecovers. So lets add those prices to the $2500 plus the cost to put it in (id say about $600) so i got shafted out of about $3500 plus my engine.

I got my pi heads and cams today for $150. They came out of a 2004 gt with 78,000 miles. Im ordering the gasket kit from summit for $114, using my stock 97 gt manifold, cam gears and value covers and me and a buddy are doing it. So in all i spent $264 for 30-50hp gain. Well worth it. Im thinking about putting Stage 2 Comp Cams in it while the heads are off the car. If im missing anything let me know.

Default HELP ME I'm lost hahah

Alright I have a couple questions and forgive me cause I'm incredibly new to having a car that I want to make better/faster. I recently bought a 1996 Gt and that I want to get the P.I. swap done (saving the money is started haha). It has 85,000 original miles which isnt a lot but is it too much to think about doing the swap. And if i do obviously cost effective is the best choice so is just looking for used 99-04 heads and intake my best choice? Then possibly cam and headers???

To be honest when I did mine I was nervous but its really not difficult at all. Go to modular head shop.com they have some articles that help out with the degree part which I think was the most intimidating but still not hard but I went with a bigger cam which I would recomend to anyone doing a pi swap
