Default Heads

I am in the market for some new Heads. I went to the MMR site and there heads say the increase HP by 55 hp for stage 3. THey are only 1500 compared to alot more from trick flow. Are these good heads? I they worth it?

Well if you get stage 3 heads you are going to need new cams but I'm pretty sure you knew that. I do believe with the stage 3 heads they recommend you bore your block .030".

One thing to keep in mind is the numbers are always higher than the actual results. 55hp is not 55rwhp.

*Edit*
I don't know about those heads. They are ported but come with stock valves which IIRC is big limiting factor for a bigger, more aggressive cam due to the fact they hang down in the cylinder more than they should for a performance valve. Just seems like you would be better off having your stock heads ported and they would be the same as those heads, except much cheaper. Someone will chime in and let me know if I am telling you accurate info

I have a stock engine right now and yes i did know about the cams. Should i not get the stage 3 because the engine is stock. I know the pistons have to be notched. What would you recommend. I was going to get MMR stage 2 blower cams because i have a procharger. Thanks

^^^ I edited my first post.

Someone else will have to help you out about what would be best for your situation as I'm not to sure what would be the best route for you. But with a stock block I would think stage 2 heads.

Check out what Jim has over at cushmanmotorsports.com.

This guy does some great work at a good price. It's worth checking out at least.
