Hypertech Power Program question
#2
Yes, if it allows the PCM to be flashed (which it may not); and unless you both happen to have the same PCM box code, which is VERY unlikely*; your PCM will be "bricked", your car will not start, and the dealer will charge you $200 to $400 (plus towing) to reflash the PCM...

* - I am not aware of any overlap in F-150 and Mustang PCM box codes.

The Hypertech Max Energy programmer for the 2004 Mustang 4.6 will not
hurt your car in any way. The tuning is designed around a stock engine. It
optimizes air fuel mixture & timing. In the automatics you can adjust shift
points. The shift firmness keeps the clutch packs from slipping as much,
cutting down on wear. You have speed limiter adjustments & can recalibrate
the speedometer & odometer for different tire hieghts & gear ratio changes.
There is also a cooling fan feature that allows to turn the fans on sooner
for a cooler thermostat.
Thanks, Gary @ Hypertech

According to that info, it would appear that i would be safe using that programmer. I called Hypertech yesterday and he informed that it would not work on the Mustang, and that i would need to buy one meant for my application. My question is...is he telling me the truth or is he just saying that to get more business.
