converting mustang gt automatic to manual
so for some time know i been debating about turning my 1998 mustang gt into a manaul. and i know its easier just to sell the car and buy a manual everybody says, but the car has alot of value to me cause i owned it since it had 60k miles and put its first aftermarkets on it. anyways im posting becuase i been researching and trying to get a part list togeather. so this is what i got. trans(not sure which one yet mybe t45?). bellhousing.fly wheel. clutch. pressure plate. throw out bearing. pilot bearing. pedel assembly wire harness and sct tuner to fix computer. how hard is the process? and im i forgetting any parts?

Ummm... Clutch cable, quadrant, firewall adjuster, clutch fork, crossmember, shifter panel and boot, shifter itself, and all the bolts for the flywheel and pressure plate (maybe even transmission - I'm not sure).
There's a reason why people say to just buy a manual transmission Mustang. Either that, or find a donor car.
*Edit - forgot to mention dowel pins

im in the same boat, my car is paid off and has 50K miles which is decent for a 11 year old car. Im gonna try to find a wrecked car or whatever. strange how people dont want to do any swaps on mustangs, import folks do swaps in driveways on a daily basis.

yea not like its a big deal. id rather make a car to what i want in aftermarkets. plus its worth the money and time converting it to a manual but im gathering every part togeather over time until im ready. plus its worth the exitement when its done and accomplishment.

Sell yours and pick up a cobra. Use the money you would be spending on parts to make up the difference. Maybe I am getting cynical in my old age, but I value my time more, I traded my car on cl straight up for my cobra and love the car.
