Default Need some guidance

Ok got my 2000 GT back together, car runs like a champ!
However, on start up the pass side shorty header where it meets the mid pipe is bumping on the underside of the car. The end of the header is at least an 1 1/2" bigger than the stock header in diameter. I thought the starter was coming off and turned off the car immediately.
I've contacted BBK and playing the waiting game to see what they say. Even AM couldn't answer my question!

How can I prevent this from continuing? How do I gain more clearance on that side?

Thanks for all your help!

Also the bottom tube of the header is contacting the top of the K member where the motor mount studs are attached, only at startup Taller motor mounts would be the answer?.

put stock manifolds back on, shorty headers give u 0 gain, long tubes or manifolds.

In that case just put your stock manifolds back on, problem solved. The shorties do absolutly nothing for you.
