Default Blew up my pumpkin.

I guess before I go further, it's a 2000 GT with the stock 8.8 rear diff.

so I'm not sure exactly what happened inside. but I left a nice 1000ft **** mark down the road, and all of that gear fluid came from the diff. I have no power to the rear, and it makes a nice lovely clunking noise when you put it in gear. a few buddies think it's my spider gear. I'm not sure, but my thinking is, which would be easier, and cheaper, to have it re-geared and re-built, or just get a new diff from american muscle and swap it. I haven't had anyone dig into it to see what happened yet, but i'd say from the fluid leak and knowing where it came from, I tore something up.

Gotta take the cover off, but sounds like it needs a rebuild

I’m guessing that replacing the gears will be easier and cheaper. You’ll pay out the nose for shipping on an entire differential. If you didn’t damage the housing, you should be able to replace the gears & seals without issues.

Good luck...
