Default How to tell which heads are on my 4.6

I know there has been some work done to my 96 gt. I am trying to figure out which heads are on it. Is there a easy way to determine weather it has the pi heads or not?

The easiest way is to pull the intake and look at the head intake ports. Npi will be round tear drop shape and pi will be square tear drop shape. You can also count the valve covers bolts. 13 count is a windser style head and is ONLY a pi head. If there is 11, its a romeo style head and came in npi and pi form.

They are stock NPI heads. I ordered the PI heads for it (romeo PI heads). I am Looking for a intake manifold. Are there any other parts that I need for the swap? I have read that you need timing gear cover.

I got the wrenches, all data for torque info and gaskets. What is the metal tube and should I stud it or get some grade 8 bolts for it?

the metal tube running from the water pump, through the valley of the engine to the heater core.
factory head bolts will be fine, new of course. or if you just want, arp head studs
