Default 2000 gt gauge cluster

Hello, I recently purchased a 2000 Mustang GT with the 4.6Ltr and automatic transmission, somebody had messed with the gauge cluster to the point where it was broken, I purchased a gauge cluster from another 2000 GT from a local salvage yard, I swapped it out today and the car will not start with the new cluster in, it flashes "theft". It will turn over and light up it just won't fire up . If I Plug the old cluster back in it fires right up. Any tricks that I could do here to bypass what is going on and get the car to start? Thank you .

You need to swap the board from the back. Find the how to guide here about making bullitt/mach gauges work. It gives a good detail

you have to have a ford scan tool to gain security access, you also must have 2 keys to program. the cluster contains the anti theft pats module, when u changed it its now looking for the keys that were programmed to the previous car.

Just swap the board as suggested above. Half an hour of your time vs. a couple hundred $$ at the Ford dealer, your pick.

Thank you, the cluster that's in the car now is actually a doner also with incorrect milage. I was lucky to find this one that shows the correct milage (within 800 miles). I do have 2 keys so I will go spend the money and have it programmed. I'm pretty sure my mechanic has a ford scan tool. Thanks again
