box on IAC pipe

Default box on IAC pipe

what is the purpose of the little plastic black box on pipe to the IAC?

its a silencer to prevent a hoot type noise that some of the other 4.6l engines experienced depending on iac position

so I could technically remove it as long as I get no "hoot" noise. I'm replacing the elbow do to corrosion and thought I might as well do the pipe. only thing I worry about is if removing the little box makes any pressure changes that could throw off one of the many sensors.

you could remove it, the noise doesnt hurt performance, its just annoying. it will not hurt or help performance
