1995 Mustang GT- Door Hinges: Rebuild or Replace?
1995 Mustang GT, 172,000 miles
Yes, it's a 5.0, and I've posted a thread in that section, but I'd like to hear you guys' opinions too, since the body is the same.
My car's driver door is sagging, and rides on the striker when closing. The lower hinge looks to be worse than the top, but I intend to take care of both hinges anyway. The passenger door doesn't have anywhere near as much wear, so I'll just be doing the driver's side.
The access on this one looks very poor. It looks like I might have to unbolt the hinge assembly to work on it, and I'm concerned about screwing up the door alignment. I've done pins+bushings on other vehicles without having to realign anything, but I'm not sure if that's going to be an option here.
The other problem is that the lower hinge's roller is worn out, and will not hold the door open. I want to address this while I'm at it, but I can only find roller kits for the older Foxes. Can I rebuild this one, or do I need a whole new hinge?

After messing with my c10 truck door and trying to realign it, ill be taking my next issue like that to my friends body and paying them. Granted that my door was out of alignment and a full heavy steel door. Without a "door dolly" the job is a pain.
Back to your question. If its just the bushings, replace the bushings. Pretty easy job and shouldn't have to realign. As the roller, I'm still searching on if its replaceable.
