Default About to go crazy! 2002 GT Ignition question.

I am new to the forum, so hopefully I am posting correctly. I need help with my 2002 Mustang GT. I had to replace the ignition after we recovered the car from being stolen. This was the second time it was stolen. Recently, I could not remove the key from the ignition. When I pulled the ignition from the steering column the steering lock gear and the steering column lock housing bearing came out with the ignition. I have been searching for clear and concise instructions on how to re-install these parts. I also read that there might be a retainer clip but I dd not see one when I pulled the ignition. Does anyone know of any good instruction on re-installing these parts or have any experience with this issue that could help me? Thanks!

It might be beneficial to source a used steering column from a junkyard and swap your current new lock cylinder into

This is probably your best best bet OP. You don't know what damage occured to the ignition system when the car was stolen so, the fact things came out the way they did could be part of why it did.

Exactly. The thieves did a lot of damage to the car. Thanks for the reply.
