S&B Air Filters for JLT CAI
My dad and I bought JLT CAI after we first got our cars, he has a 2007 GT/CS... I know they were a waste of money... My dad ordered me and himself new air filters from S&B and their cleaning kit for xmas. It's time to change air filters so, we took them off, followed the directions they provide to clean the filter and are preparing to apply the oil. The can says in very small font "scale required to apply proper amount of oil". The oil is also contained in a spray can, so it will be pretty dang hard to weigh the oil coming out of the spray can. So, I called S&B after searching their worthless website and was informed for my fathers filter, 69 grams was the required amount. I couldn't find the product number to give the rude customer service phone representative for my filter so, I didn't even bother at that point. Any of you guys know how much of this oil to spray on the filters? I don't think I will be doing service with S&B anymore. Thanks for any help.

Oiled gauze or foam filters will always take about 1/4tr to 1/3rd as much oil as you first think. All they require is a VERY thin film of oil, if it looks wet with oil then it's too much--use some paper towels to soak off the excess.
69 grams would be about 2.7 oz of oil.
Synthetic oil is roughly 875kg/m³, so 69g would be 0.069/875 = 0.00007886m³ = 2.7 oz.
