Default Do our keys have chips in 'em?

I've got an 01 and I was wondering if there were chips embedded in our keys. Anyone know? I only have one, so I need to get another two sets ASAP.

Yes. You'll have to take your key and the new keys to a dealership or locksmith to program them. If you already had two, you could program the new keys yourself.

Just so I understand, you have to program the keys -and- the remotes?

IF you only have one key, then to program a second you have to take it somewhere that has IDS(dealer) and they have to do it. should charge you half an hour to do so. If you have 2 keys and want a third, then to program them you just put one key in the ignition, turn to run for 3-5 seconds, turn off and take it out, quickly put the second key in, same thing, 3-5 seconds then pull out, and then put the new unprogrammed key in and turn on for 3-5 and it's done.

the remotes you can do yourself. get in the car, shut door, hit the unlock button on the door, then key in ignition, turn it from off to run 8 times, ending in the run position. at that time the car should cycle the locks which you will hear. then just hit a button on the remotes you want to program, then when done turn the key off.

^+1, the remote entry is unrelated to the SecuriLock system (PATS)...
