Default Key Problems

Hi i have a 1992 Mustang LX 5 speed

my key isent going in the ingnition i bought the car 2 days ago and it was working fine until one time i tryed to put the key in and it just wouldent go in the problem isent the steering lock.

anyone have any idea what this might be when i try to put the key in it just dosent go in like it dosent fit but it should its the same key as i have been using since i got the car.

make sure nothing is in there.

make sure your also using the ignition key and nt the door one.

I bet your "dinger button" got stuck down. Does your dinger go off even if your key isn't in the ignition? If so, you need a new ignition switch. I had to have mine drilled out, and I was stranded at wal-mart for 4 hours[&:]

I would say that al_ngl hit it right on the head.

I bet your "dinger button" got stuck down. Does your dinger go off even if your key isn't in the ignition? If so, you need a new ignition switch. I had to have mine drilled out, and I was stranded at wal-mart for 4 hours[&:]
LOL, this very thing happened to me as well. I had to abandon my car over the weekend until the locksmith could come and swap it out. When they put the new one in, they just pulled off the trigger so it would not happen again.

Yeah the locksmith told me that the dinger button is the Achille's heel of fords.

i kno exactly wat it is
the same ****in thing happened to me in the school parking lot
you need a pick
an angled or straight doesnt matter
look down in there and ur gonna see a piece of wat looks to be brass
dig the pick down in there and get that **** outta the way and it will be fine
but dont force the key and bend it
thats not good
