How hard is it to change a belt on a pi 4.6L?? I am planning on installing a gatorback as soon as it warms up outside. Anyone have any experiance doing it? How long does it take?

Very easy. It should take about 5 minutes. Good choice on the belt.

you just need a good length 3/8" ratchet to stick down on the idler pulley to relieve the tension. then remove the old and install the new belt, be sure to route the new belt exactly the same.

theres a metal plate that restricts how far you can release tension, i had to remove that plate when i put a belt on my car because i couldnt relieve the tension far enough to slip the belt on

It shouldn't be hard, but take your time. If you had the car on beforehand, be careful where you touch (might be hot, obviously).

I also gotted a Gatorback [8D]

That plate was apparently on some of the older 4.6's..

wheni replaced my tensioner, *the whole thing because it was seperating* it was actually causing that plate to be grinded away at by the pulley that was off line.

so i bought a new tensionder, and the hole for the wratchet doesnt even line up with the hole in the plate..

stupid ford..
