Default 1995 explorer intake on a 94 mustang GT

I just picked up a 1995 explorer upper and lower intake manifold for $100 (I figured for that cheap what’s the worst that could happen). I was wondering what I have to do to get this to work with my car? A lot of the information I’ve found is mostly related to foxbodys so I’m not sure how much of that is applicable in my case. I don’t need to pass any engine emissions testing and I don’t care about the check engine light, I just want to know what I HAVE to do for this to work and run well on my car. Thank you!

not sure if this picture will help at all, it’s the only one I have. I’m going to buy it tomorrow afternoon but if I should run away screaming please tell me haha.

All you need is the SN95 curved elbow that bolts to the upper intake which your egr valve will mount to & your throttle body will mount to.If you don't wanna run the egr,a felpro 1250 gasket should come with a block off section that blocks the egr passage between the lower intake to head mating surface. It looks like the intake youve got already has the hole drilled and tapped at the #5 intake runner that your act sensor screws into.

Thank you! You seem to be one of the only active people on this side of the forum so I really appreciate your replies on all the threads I’ve used, not just this one haha

Also just a slight follow up question. The elbows are online for like $100 and that seems like a bit much. Any idea where I can get them for cheaper? Or would I be able to just extend my CAI and hook it in like that?

You can try searching the classifieds in the forums on here & on other Mustang forums,if you cant locate one on here (Stangnet,Sbftech,
Corral,AllFordMustangs, etc) Alot of gt40 owners have mentioned to stay away from the Professional Products adapter elbow due to possible alignment issues with bolt holes, etc. You can also try searching for gt40 intake threads in the 79-95 forum for any questions I haven't answered yet.I believe when youve got a 94-95 model, you dont have a choice in whether to buy the adapter or not.The Explorer intake came with a elbow, but it wont work on a 94-95 model. The 94-95 Cobra upper intake had the elbow cast into the intake itself so it is the only gt40 intake that will work without using the adapter, but the other intakes require it.I'll do some research and let you know if I stumble across one.

If you don't want to move your act sensor you need to block off the hole on the lower intake. I've moved mine there since mine is supercharged but mine is also tuned so it might screw up your settings if you move it there without a tune. You can just get a bolt that will fit in the hole.

My apologies,Dr Howard is correct.I was thinking Foxbody when I mentioned the act sensor location.I believe the act sensor hole is a 3/8-18 npt thread,if you wanna find a bolt or pipe plug to close it up.You can also use an old act or ect sensor,if you've got one,to plug the hole.
